Kavanah

The sincerity & direction of one’s heart, the intention of one’s prayer.

Kavanai was created through a prayer and a search of purpose, hence the Hebrew word “Kavanah” incorporated in our name.

I believe that when praying to God to reveal His purpose for my life, it was with Kavanah, as He answered and gave me my purpose, Kavanai. My purpose as the founder of Kavanai is to present a reinvented take on modest fashion, bridging the gap between art and the devotion rooted in modesty.

There are many intricate reasons why Kavanai means so much to me. Shifting the mindset of consumers to once again appreciate the artistry and craftsmanship that goes into making garments is one of my main focus points due to the scale of the impact the fashion industry has on our environment.

It hurts to know that we live in a world where clothing is treated as disposable on such a large scale, and the impact that it has on this beautiful earth that God gifted us with is an afterthought, if even one at all. This is why all our clothes are made to order and our slow fashion approach will be continuous for the years to come. I believe this step, which is what I call the consideration process allows our customers to truly think their decision through, to buy a garment they’ll love and cherish, or to be able to appreciate it and pass it on to another individual who will love and cherish it.

Despite the industry of fashion being fast and ever-shifting, I have made the decision to embrace the process of everything we do, not to rush it. I design our garments with love, they are made with love, and I want you to love them too.
